Kuch khabre hoti hai kuch banani padti hai... says the tagline of the Sony TV’s new show, Reporters
Sony TV’s new show starring Rajeev Khandelwal and Kritika Kamra is loosely based on the hit international show Newsroom. We recently showcased the first promo of Reporters which had Rajeev Khandelwal telling the viewers that Kuch khabre hoti hai kuch banani padti hai… (Some news exist; others are created). The promo gave a glimpse into the life of journalists and how news is created.
A few days later a video went viral which showcased Kritika slapping Rajeev for kissing her. The video was just a publicity gimmick like we told you. We’ve got the full video right here which tells the full story.
The new promo of Reporters shows Kritika and Rajeev arguing over what makes good news. Rajeev argues that there is nothing good or bad, it is the way you present it. She challenges him to prove it and Rajeev suddenly kisses Kritika in front of the camera. In retaliation, Kritika slaps him and the reporter in Rajeev turns it into a case study of what women should do when they are forced.
It is definitely interesting and a very novel idea and we as reporters certainly connect with it. However, will sensationalising the promo work for the show or not remains to be seen. Watch the promo and tell us what you think.
