The Italian actress, who played the sizzling Solange opposite Daniel Craig in the 2006 James Bond film, “Casino Royale,” is said to have a meaty role in the Rajiv Jhaveri-directed film that stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Gauhar Khan in the lead roles.
In an email interview to Hindustan Times, Murino said that it was “one of her dreams” to act in a Bollywood film. “But I have to say, I wasn’t offered a ‘traditional’ Bollywood script (with songs and dance sequences),” she added.
The actress lamented the fact that though people are aware that “Bollywood is the largest cinema industry in the world,” it was a pity that “we can’t see a lot of Bollywood movies in theatres globally.”
Murino said she would love to see Hindi films get the same distribution as American or French movies. She recalled falling in love with Hrithik Roshan’s character in the 2008 film, “Jodha Akbar,” which she described as a “beautiful and amazing” film. “Devdas” and
“Salaam Bombay” were among other Bollywood films that the actress loved watching.
Professing her love for the Indian film industry, she said she would love to do more Hindi films, learn Hindi, take Indian dance lessons, and shoot in India. And as far as dancing in Hindi films was concerned, the ex-Bond girl said she was a fan of the dancing diva Madhuri Dixit-Nene, and would love to feature in a song alongside her.
